Jailer 2 Box Office Collection Day 17: Rajinikanth Film Crosses Rs 475 Crore in India, Saturday Jump Coming

By BollyShowbiz Desk • October 31, 2026 • Rajinikanth, Jailer 2, Box Office Collection, Day 17, Nelson Dilipkumar, Sun Pictures, Tamil Cinema

Jailer 2 box office collection day 17: Rajinikanth's film is headed for a big third Saturday, with live trade tracking pointing at roughly Rs 17 crore on day 17 (October 31). After 15 days the film has already crossed Rs 475 crore gross in India, which puts the Rs 500 crore club squarely in sight this weekend.

Nelson Dilipkumar's action sequel, released on October 15, has been one of those rare films that keeps finding new legs. The 15-day India total stands at about Rs 475 crore gross (roughly Rs 428 crore nett), per trade estimates compiled by Pinkvilla and boxofficeindia24. Worldwide, it is already the biggest Kollywood grosser ever, with around Rs 765 crore in the bag after 15 days.

All figures are trade estimates, not official numbers. Day-wise gross figures via Pinkvilla; Day 15 nett estimate via boxofficeindia24. Second-weekend day-wise figures (Days 10–12) were not in the trade estimates available at press time; the 15-day India total stands at roughly Rs 475 crore gross.

Week 1 vs week 2: a rare hold

The first week alone did Rs 374 crore gross in India — a monster number, and the makers celebrated it with an official collection poster noting that the film had crossed Rs 549 crore worldwide in its first week, the highest ever week 1 for a Tamil film. The second week added another Rs 101 crore gross, which is the kind of hold most big releases can only dream of. Two weeks, two nine-figure weeks, and the film still has a third weekend ahead of it.

Even the weekday drops have been gentle. The second Wednesday brought in Rs 6.75 crore gross, about a 20% drop from the day before, and the second Thursday held at roughly Rs 5.30 crore nett. For a film in its third week of release, that is genuine staying power.

Where the money is coming from: territory split

Tamil Nadu remains the heart of the film's run with about Rs 176.25 crore gross. The Telugu states have contributed roughly Rs 83.50 crore, Karnataka about Rs 87.50 crore, and Kerala Rs 73.75 crore — all trade estimates via Pinkvilla. The split shows just how wide Rajinikanth's pull still runs: this is not a one-state phenomenon, it is firing across the south and beyond.

Hindi dubbed version: a Plus verdict with 68% profit

The Hindi-dubbed version has quietly become one of the film's best stories. In 15 days it earned Rs 43.8 crore nett in India, against a breakeven target of Rs 26 crore — a profit of Rs 17.8 crore, or about 68.5%. As per Koimoi's parameters, that earns it a Plus verdict. If it can reach Rs 52 crore nett, it becomes a clean hit.

It has already beaten Coolie's Rs 37.23 crore to become the second-highest-grossing Kollywood film ever in Hindi, behind only 2.0's Rs 188 crore — and it did that without releasing in the national multiplex chains. Word of mouth did the heavy lifting.

Worldwide: already the biggest Kollywood grosser

After 15 days, Jailer 2's worldwide gross stands at roughly Rs 765 crore, per Tenvow's trade tracking. That makes it the biggest Kollywood worldwide grosser of all time, ahead of every Tamil film that came before it. The makers' own week-1 collection poster had it past Rs 549 crore in the opening week itself. From here, Rs 800 crore worldwide is the next marker the trade will be watching.

What's next: the Rs 500 crore India chase

This is the part that matters now. With the film sitting at roughly Rs 475 crore gross in India after 15 days and Saturday tracking at around Rs 17 crore, the Rs 500 crore India club could be in reach by the end of this weekend — depending on how Sunday lands. That would make Jailer 2 one of the very few Tamil films to ever get there.

The clock is ticking, though. Ramayana is around the corner, and once a big new release arrives, screens will start shifting. This weekend is the last clean window the film has to make its money before fresh competition eats into its shows. A strong Saturday-Sunday pair now could be the difference between finishing at Rs 510 crore and finishing at Rs 550 crore.

For now, the trade's read is simple: the film is holding, the weekend jump is real, and Rajinikanth has another all-time record on the way. Final Saturday numbers will be in by tomorrow morning.
