Roadies Rebirth Episode 1 Written Update: Three Picked in the First Audition, One Big Snatch, and Two Boys Sent Home

Roadies is back, and day one itself had everything. A girl who beat the leaders at arm wrestling. A boy with no job and a simple dream. Two boys who got a good scolding and were sent home. And in the end, a snatch that changed the whole game. This is the full story of episode 1, in plain words.

Quick facts first

How the bidding works this season

The boys and girls who cleared the group talks come in small groups for a face-to-face round with Rannvijay and the six leaders. After each audition, the two gangs bid for the person they want. Money here is called Roadiums. Each gang starts with 1 lakh Roadiums in a common bank. Each leader also has 30,000 of his or her own, which can be used only after the common money is over.

The gang that bids the most takes the person. One leader of that gang then puts a stamp on the person's arm. Lots of people can get picked in auditions, but in the end only 16 from each gang will go ahead on the show.

There is one twist. Every leader has a secret snatch button. If the other gang's winning bid goes above 15,000 Roadiums, a leader can press it and take that person for free — and the other gang still pays the money. Episode 1 showed why this button is so risky. More on that in a bit.

Audition 1: Sneha, Shine and Preet — all three picked

Sneha is a professional arm-wrestler, and she did not waste time. She arm-wrestled Bani J and Neha Dhupia right there, then did push-ups and pull-ups. The leaders were happy with her strength. Gang OG took her for 7,000 Roadiums, and Neha put her stamp on Sneha's arm.

Shine came in full of energy and danced for everyone. He is the kind of boy who lifts the mood of a room. OG took him too, for 3,000 Roadiums, with Prince's stamp.

Preet won hearts in a different way. He has no job right now. His father runs a security agency, but Preet wants to make his own name. He spoke in a simple, desi way, and the leaders liked his honesty. OG picked him for 17,500 Roadiums, the highest clean bid of the day, with Prince's stamp again.

Audition 2: Hrietik and Allen — both sent home

This was the hard part of the episode. Hrietik came in first. On his form, he had called Allen Choudhary the worst content creator and said his work is cringe. Allen was then called in too.

The mood turned serious when the leaders spoke about Allen's old social media work — posts made for views, where photos of girls were changed and used without care. Allen said sorry and said he will not do it again. But nobody was ready to accept that so fast. Rannvijay told him clearly: Roadies is not a place to clean your image. Go home, change yourself, and try again next year.

Hrietik did not go through either. The leaders did not like the lines on his form about girls and short clothes. They said the two boys are two sides of the same coin, and both were asked to leave. A strong message, and a fair one: this season, your old posts and your thinking about women will be asked about, in front of everyone.

Audition 3: Karishma Talwar — and the first snatch

Karishma is not a new face. Old viewers will know her from Splitsvilla Season 8, where she was Prince Narula's connection. Prince was clearly happy to see her.

Her story is heavy. She told the room about the violence she faced in her marriage, how she walked out of it, and how she lost close to 40 kg after that. She then did a hanging aerial dance that left the room quiet. The leaders said one line that says it all — hers was the only real rebirth story of the day.

Gang NewG won her bid at 22,000 Roadiums. It looked done. And then came the twist: Neha Dhupia had pressed the secret snatch button. So Karishma came to Gang OG for free, NewG still paid the price, and Neha put her stamp on Karishma's arm. Day one, and the OG gang had already played the smartest move of the season so far.

Good to know for Indian viewers

My take

A strong first episode. The show kept the old Roadies feeling — tough talk, real checks, no free entry — but the two-gang bidding and the snatch button have made the game more sharp. OG ended day one with all four picks and paid nothing for the best story of the day. NewG will come back angry. That is exactly what episode 2 gave us, and you can read it on this site.
