Udta Teer Box Office Collection Day 2: Ayushmann Khurrana Film Jumps to Rs 7 Crore, Crosses Rs 11 Crore in 2 Days

By BollyShowbiz Desk • October 25, 2026 • Udta Teer, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Box Office, Budget

Udta Teer box office collection day 2 is the jump the film needed. After a soft Friday, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan's spy comedy picked up sharply on Saturday, October 24, 2026, collecting Rs 7 crore net in India and taking its two-day India net total to Rs 11.10 crore. That Saturday growth has changed the opening-weekend picture — but with a reported budget of around Rs 50 crore, the film still has a long way to go before anyone can call it a success. Here are the day 2 numbers as the trade reported them, where the sources disagree, and what the collection means against the budget.

Day 2 numbers: the Saturday jump that changed the weekend

Start with the headline number. As per Sacnilk's figures, reported by Filmy Khabri, Andhra Vilas and the Times of India live tracker, Udta Teer collected Rs 7 crore net in India on day 2. Add that to day 1's Rs 4.10 crore and you get Rs 11.10 crore net in two days — the figure behind every "crosses Rs 11 crore" headline. It is a real jump: Rs 7 crore against Rs 4.10 crore is a rise of about 71 percent, and the film's own day 1 report had said it needed over Rs 6 crore on Saturday to stay alive. It cleared that bar.

Two honesty notes before you take the number as final. First, the day 2 figure is still an early estimate, not a final count. The Times of India live tracker says so plainly: the day 2 number was still moving as shows went on, and "the final collections are yet to be reported." Treat Rs 7 crore as the reported early figure, with a small revision possible when the final count lands. Second, not every outlet agrees to the last decimal. Box Office Worldwide reports day 2 at Rs 6.90 crore, not Rs 7 crore — a rounding-level gap that leaves the two-day total at Rs 11 crore in its version rather than Rs 11.10 crore. More oddly, that same outlet's headline calls it a "50 percent jump," which does not match its own figures: Rs 6.90 crore against Rs 4.10 crore is a rise of about 68 percent, not 50. We are using the Sacnilk-based Rs 7 crore as the lead figure because three outlets report it, and flagging the 6.90 crore version rather than hiding it.

What the jump means in plain terms: Friday suggested a film struggling to find its crowd, while Saturday suggests the crowd started finding it. Evening and night shows did the heavy lifting again, the same pattern as day 1, when night occupancy hit 25 percent. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, quoted by Andhra Vilas, noted the film performed better than pre-release estimates. That matters because the pre-release talk had this film opening even lower than Rs 4.10 crore.

Day 1 vs day 2: the full table

DayIndia netWhat happened
Day 1 — Friday, October 23Rs 4.10 crore (Sacnilk; Pinkvilla says around Rs 3.75 crore)Soft opening below Rs 5 crore, 6,265 shows, 15.65% overall occupancy for Hindi 2D
Day 2 — Saturday, October 24Rs 7 crore (Sacnilk early estimate; Box Office Worldwide says Rs 6.90 crore)Sharp Saturday jump, about 71% up on day 1, 6,610 shows
Total after 2 daysRs 11.10 crore netIndia gross Rs 13.10 crore; worldwide gross Rs 15.98 crore

The day 1 disagreement is worth repeating here because it changes the growth math slightly. If you use Pinkvilla's Rs 3.75 crore for day 1 instead of Sacnilk's Rs 4.10 crore, the Saturday jump looks even bigger — about 87 percent. Either way, the direction is the same: Saturday was much stronger than Friday. The honest range for day 1 is around Rs 4 crore net, and for day 2 around Rs 7 crore net, with the final day 2 count still to come.

Worldwide: Rs 15.98 crore gross in 2 days

India is only part of the story. As per the Times of India live tracker, the film's total India gross after two days reached Rs 13.10 crore, and overseas business added Rs 2.75 crore gross in total, of which Rs 1.50 crore came on day 2 itself. Put together, the worldwide gross after two days stands at Rs 15.98 crore. Keep the labels straight here: the Rs 11.10 crore figure is India net (after entertainment tax), while Rs 13.10 crore is India gross and Rs 15.98 crore is worldwide gross. Mixing those up is how box office reports end up comparing the wrong numbers, so this article keeps net and gross separate throughout.

Udta Teer budget: what Rs 50 crore means for the film

Now the budget question, because a Rs 11.10 crore two-day total means very different things against a Rs 20 crore film and a Rs 50 crore one. Udta Teer budget reports converge on one figure: around Rs 50 crore. Cinema Express says the film was "reportedly made on a budget of Rs 50 crores," trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal told Filmibeat the budget is "around Rs 50 crore," and DesiVibe repeats the same reported figure. Three trade-facing outlets pointing at the same number makes Rs 50 crore the fair figure to use — with one clear warning attached: the makers have not officially confirmed any budget figure. Tenvow's box office page says the production budget "has not been officially confirmed by the makers," so Rs 50 crore is a reported figure, not an official one.

There is also a competing claim to deal with openly. A pre-release wiki page puts the Udta Teer budget at around Rs 70 crore, but that page contradicts itself: it lists a production budget of Rs 60 crore and print-and-advertising costs of Rs 70 crore, which do not add up to its own Rs 70 crore total. Because that split is self-contradictory and the page dates from before release, we are not using Rs 70 crore as the budget, and no reliable source gives a separate production-versus-marketing split. If the makers confirm an official figure later, this article should be updated to it.

So what does Udta Teer box office collection vs budget look like after two days? Here the arithmetic is transparent, using the reported Rs 50 crore budget: the Rs 11.10 crore India net total covers about 22 percent of that budget, and the Rs 15.98 crore worldwide gross covers about 32 percent. That is the recovery status after two days — roughly a fifth of the reported budget back in India net terms, roughly a third in worldwide gross terms. Nobody should call this film safe yet on those numbers alone.

The target that decides hit or flop comes from the same Filmibeat conversation with Rohit Jaiswal: Udta Teer needs at least Rs 56 crore at the box office to earn a clean hit tag, anything below Rs 40 crore would count as a flop, and crossing Rs 70 crore would make it a super hit. Against the Rs 11.10 crore two-day India net total, the film needs roughly Rs 44.90 crore more in India net collections to reach that Rs 56 crore hit mark. That is a big ask from a Rs 7 crore Saturday — it needs Sunday to hold strong and the weekdays to drop gently, not steeply. A Rs 20 crore opening weekend, as Box Office Worldwide projects, would leave the film at about 36 percent of the hit target after three days, with the rest of the run to find the remaining Rs 36 crore.

What drove the Saturday jump

Three things seem to have helped. First, word of mouth: the film opened to mixed reviews but with warm audience reactions in places, and Saturday is when word of mouth first shows up in the numbers. Our day 1 report noted critic Sumit Kadel gave the film 4 stars, and audience reactions collected then praised Ayushmann's comic timing and the situational humour, even from viewers who felt the jokes did not land every time. Second, the evening and night shows: day 1 already showed the pattern, with night occupancy at 25 percent against 5.08 percent in the morning, and Saturday repeated the evening pickup. Third, the competition picture: Andhra Vilas notes the film faced last week's releases, including Yami Gautam's Nayyi Navelli and Rajkummar Rao's Prahaar, and Cinema Express adds that there are no major releases next week either — which gives Udta Teer breathing room if Sunday holds.

What Sunday needs to do

Sunday is now the number that decides the weekend story. Box Office Worldwide projects an opening weekend of around Rs 20 crore nett, which means Sunday needs roughly Rs 9 crore net on top of the Rs 11.10 crore two-day total. A Sunday in that range would confirm the Saturday jump was real momentum, not a one-day blip. A Sunday that falls back toward Rs 5 crore would leave the weekend closer to Rs 16 crore and put the Rs 56 crore hit target much further out of reach. The film's own premise helps it here: a spy comedy about Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani agent who loses his memory and starts believing he is an Indian officer, is a family-friendly hook, and family audiences tend to turn up on Sundays. But the film also needs to hold past the weekend — the real test for a Rs 50 crore budget is Monday, when the weekend crowd thins out.

The film itself, in brief

Udta Teer is a spy comedy written and directed by Aakash Kaushik in his directorial debut, produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain producing. Ayushmann Khurrana plays Bilal Ahmed, a trained Pakistani agent sent to India who loses his memory in an accident and wakes up convinced he is a loyal Indian officer. Sara Ali Khan leads opposite him, and the supporting cast includes Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Suhail Nayyar, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Brijendra Kala, Raghubir Yadav and Sandeep Anand. It is the second posthumous release for late actor Mukul Dev. Music is by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the film runs 134 minutes. It is Ayushmann and Sara's second film together after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which opened at Rs 4 crore in 2025 — a mark Udta Teer has already passed on day 1 itself.

My take

Day 2 saved Udta Teer from a bad weekend story, but it has not saved the film yet. Rs 7 crore on Saturday against a reported Rs 50 crore budget is a genuine jump, and crossing Rs 11 crore in two days gives the film a weekend to fight for. But the hit target is Rs 56 crore, and that needs a Sunday hold plus a weekday run that most films with this kind of opening do not manage. If Sunday lands near Rs 9 crore and Monday drops gently, this film has a real shot at a respectable total. If Sunday slips, the good Saturday will read as a one-day bounce. Watch Sunday first, then Monday — those two numbers, not Saturday's cheer, will decide whether Udta Teer is a hit, a flop, or something in between.
