"Ghar Par Goliyaan Chal Rahi Hain": Rohit Shetty Indirectly Addresses the Firing Incident on Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar
Rohit Shetty walked onto the Weekend Ka Vaar stage with a promise: no prompts, no script, no filter. He had watched the housemates all week, he said, and nobody from the makers had briefed him. Then, while pulling up a group of contestants for ganging up on Qazi Touqeer, he said the one line nobody in that house could have missed — about bullets being fired at people's homes, while they were busy playing gangster inside a TV house. He never named an incident. He did not have to.

The line that stopped the episode
Rohit was in the middle of a scolding. ScoutOP, Aasif Khan and Yung DSA had been coming at Qazi Touqeer together, again and again, and Rohit called them out for it — a "bully gang", in the Free Press Journal's account of the episode. Yung DSA had claimed Qazi made the others feel as if he was charging at them. Rohit did not buy that version. He said Qazi was not going to turn violent; he was provoking the others as part of his game, and the group was dressing that up as something scarier than it was.
That is when the real world walked into the house. "Yahan humare ghar par goliyan chal rahi hain, tum kya gangster banke ghoom rahe ho?" — here, bullets are being fired at our homes, and you are walking around pretending to be gangsters? Different outlets quote the wording slightly differently — the Free Press Journal version runs "Idhar hamare gharon mein goliyan chal rahi hai, tumlog kya gangster ban ke ghum rahe ho" — but the point lands the same way in every version. Rohit was drawing a line between play-acting toughness on a reality show and the actual shootings that have hit film families in Mumbai this year.
Here is the honest part: Rohit did not name any incident on air, and the outlets read the line two ways. The Free Press Journal frames it as an indirect reference to the Tiger Shroff firing. Times Now frames it as an indirect reference to the firing outside Rohit's own home in February. Both readings fit the words he used — "hamare gharon", our homes, plural — and neither outlet claims he said either name out loud. He has never publicly spoken about the February shooting at his own residence, ANI notes, and this was as close as he has come.
He added a second jab at the same group, in the Free Press Journal's account: in their heads they looked like gangsters, but they came across like "teen 10th standard ke nikle hain" — three schoolkids out on some mission. He also pulled them up for age-shaming Qazi, pointing out that Salman Khan hosts the show at 60 and that he himself is 52, and that past winners have won the show in their 40s.

ScoutOP and Love Gill: the brother-sister bond that did not look like one on screen
The other big confrontation of the night was about ScoutOP and Love Gill, whose closeness had already been all over social media before the episode aired. In the promo, and then on stage, Rohit asked Love what Scout was to her. She said she considers him a brother.
Rohit then put the pictures to them: Scout massaging her legs, hands and neck under a blanket, Love asking him to press from behind, Scout pressing her calves. "Love, voh theek nahi lag raha hai," he said — it is not looking good at all. Scout pushed back, saying he also massages Mahhi Vij when she asks him to, and that he did not see anything wrong in it. Love, by contrast, seemed to take Rohit's point, and told Scout she was worried about how she was being portrayed outside. Scout told her not to worry. Rohit's parting shot to him, in Times Now's highlights, was blunt: "You will soon realise it."
One more thing doing the rounds is only a report, not a confirmed appearance: that Scout's girlfriend, Kaashvi Hiranandani, may come on a coming Weekend Ka Vaar to address his closeness with Love despite being in a relationship. No outlet in the top coverage confirms she has been booked, so treat that as buzz until the show itself announces it.
Qazi: praised, backed — but no confirmed offer
Through all of this, Rohit kept coming back to Qazi. He called out Aasif Khan for getting aggressive towards the singer during the nomination and captaincy tasks, asking him to control his anger and play with a more positive approach. He said Qazi was playing his own individual game, and he praised him for his entertainment value. Then came the line fans have been quoting since: "Qazi, your time has come" — things will change in his life after Bigg Boss 20.
That is worth stating plainly, because headlines have stretched it further: nothing in the top coverage of this episode confirms a new film, show or work offer from Rohit to Qazi. "Your time has come" is encouragement and praise, not a contract. If an offer is announced, it will be news in its own right — until then, calling it an offer would be inventing it.
What actually happened in February at Rohit Shetty's home
On February 1, 2026, at least five rounds were fired at the first floor of Rohit Shetty's residential building in Juhu, Mumbai, in the early hours of the morning. The New Indian Express, reporting that day, put the time at around 12:45 am, said one bullet hit the glass of a gym in the nine-storey building, and said no one was injured. Mumbai Police registered an attempt-to-murder case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, and stepped up security around the building. CCTV, forensic and ballistic teams worked the scene.
Times Now reports that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the February attack, and that an attacker named Deepak Sharma was later arrested in Agra. ANI's latest report says Mumbai Police arrested several accused in connection with the incident. The case has stayed in the background of Rohit's public life ever since — which is exactly why one indirect line on a reality show carried so much weight.
What actually happened on October 18 to Tiger Shroff
The second case Rohit's line touches is the one from just six days before this episode. On October 18, 2026, at around 7 pm, motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire at Tiger Shroff's car in Juhu, near Pushpa Narsee Park, as he was leaving after playing football. Tiger escaped without gunshot injuries; his driver and a bystander sustained bullet injuries and were taken to hospital, according to the Free Press Journal's account.
Since then, ANI reports, the Andheri hotel room where three key accused allegedly stayed has been sealed, police are probing claims the shooters practised firing at an unknown place before the attack, and a crime-scene recreation with all three accused is expected. Four accused were produced before Mumbai's Esplanade Court (Killa Court) on Thursday, and ANI says Anil Pandit has been named as an absconding accused in the police remand application.
A note on names, because the coverage is messy here: some outlets name an "Amit Pandit" as the Bishnoi aide who allegedly ordered the attack, while ANI's court report names "Anil Pandit" as absconding. This article does not merge those two names into one person — the reports differ, and the police remand application cited by ANI is the one that names Anil Pandit. Likewise, on the question of who the Tiger shooters first targeted: Lokmat Times names Salman Khan, saying recce at Galaxy Apartments was abandoned because of heavy security, while another report says police have not disclosed the identity of the alleged original target. That part is reported, not confirmed — our earlier Tiger case article on this site covers the arrests and recoveries in full.
And the rest of Episode 49
Rohit did not only deal with the Qazi group and Scout-Love. He told Mahhi Vij and Amrapali Dubey to stop being, in his words, couch potatoes and to play individually, asked Arishfa Khan to stand firm on her points, and said Kanika Mann has matured as a person. At the end of the night, he announced the eviction: Mary Kom left the house on votes, and Manish Goel lost one lifeline because of fewer votes. Mahhi and Amrapali were seen crying as Mary Kom said her goodbyes.
Good to know for Indian viewers
Bigg Boss 20 airs on Colors TV and streams on JioHotstar. Weekend Ka Vaar episodes air on Saturday and Sunday, with Salman Khan as the regular host — Rohit stepped in for this week only because of Salman's work commitments, and he made a point of saying he had watched the housemates all week himself before coming on stage.
My take
This was the rare Weekend Ka Vaar where the host's own life did more work than any scolding. Rohit did not lecture the housemates about violence in the abstract — he reminded them, in one line, that the thing they were cosplaying has actually happened to people they know, in the same city, in the same year. The Scout-Love grilling and the Qazi praise will drive the clips, but that line is why this episode will be remembered. If the housemates heard it the way it sounded, the gangster act should be a lot harder to keep up next week.
